Tiger King - Episode 2 RECAP 💎💎💎

Episode 2 saw Saff’s (an employee at Joe Exotics park) arm get riffed off by a lion, she is now amputated, however went back to work 5 days after the incident because she didn’t want Joe’s park to suffer! It is highlighted that Joe breeds a lot of tigers and sells them on, which has now become illegal. Mario Tabraue drug-lord turned private exotic park owner is introduced. Doc’s old apprentice Barbra speaks out about how Doc ran his centre and the staff, marrying off many of the women and virgins were his type. Whilst Carol is exploiting volunteers to work for free at Big Cat Rescue, Joe and Doc can only afford to give their staff $100 a week, when they work 12 hour shifts or more!

I was shocked at the exploitation of people and animals during this episode. So far, I have seen Joe be the best person on the documentary series. Carol is getting volunteers to run her centre using a colour coding t-shirt system to keep them encouraged but doesn’t care to learn anyone’s name. Doc on the other hand is employing young women and beginning a new cult by deflowering virgins and marrying many wives. I am gob-smacked seeing how these people live and feel sorry for them, all of this to keep the exotic animals in cages and call it wildlife education. The interesting cliff-hanger about Carol’s missing (presumed) dead husband got me back on track though. 

 What We Learnt:

• Employee got her arm bitten off by a tiger at Joe Exotic’s park. She went straight back to work 5 days after

• Doc Antle takes his animals to bath in a public lake

• Carol Baskin thinks people just have tigers in pictures to look at themselves

• Joe Exotic is the bigger tiger breaded. He wants babies to keep being born

• Selling animals is biggest money maker for Joe

• £2k to buy a tiger and it’s illegal now, endanger specifies act now means you can’t sell or buy exotic animals

• Joe sends cubs to Tim Stark wildlife park to keep the breading going

• Carol hopes her website noting the male network who sell and buy these animals illegally will inform the police to get something done

• Mario Tabraue is the biggest drug dealers the state ever knew

• Mario also operates a private big-cat wildlife centre

• He used to smuggle drugs in animals and using snakes bodies to transfer them

• Larry Nash was murdered and dropped on Mario’s land, he says he didn’t shoot or kill him, but still served 12 years

• Mario got six lions from a man who got killed by them and has been collecting animals ever since

• Mario’s wife looks after primates and has outfits and does cakes for them

• Doc Antle is a doctor of mystical science and he has three wives who work in his park

• An apprentice, Barbra Fisher, wanted to join Doc’s park because on the website it said they were vegetarian and use yoga practices to train the animals and her dad said don’t fall in love with the Doc

• Barbra said she lived in a cage and there were cockroaches everywehre and Doc said listen to me and you will become great

• Doc basically says to become great you must have sex with me and his type is virgins or near to virgins who then treat him like a Guru

• Docs touch brings them up to his level of enlightenment

• Joe said he had two husbands, John and Travis

• Travis arrived at the farm at 17 and Joe falls in love with him

• Joe married of both John and Travis on the same day

• Carol says that these zoo keepers will use young people to come in and use the animals to lure them into becoming a labour camp and influence them

• They work such long house 8am-12pm and only pay £100 dollars a week

• Carol however gets volunteers to work for free!

• Carol has a colour code system where volunteer work their way up the shirts to become trainers of the park one internet works 6 days a week 12 hours to fast track through

• Carol doesn’t know who they all are !!

• Carols social media has 2 millions on Facebook and YouTube with 10 million people watching them

• Joe went to big cat rescue and they only had 12 cats not that many as Carol claims and Joe says that the cages are rubbish and the weeds are out of control

• Joes husband, John was saying Joe said he was thinking about dropping grenades out of the helicopter

• Tim Stark said he wanted to know how Doc got his women trained

• Doc chooses all the women’s outfits and has them changing their names he controlled them, pushing the women to get implants 

• Joe liked to hire people that was this job offer would be their only option and employing ex-offenders

• Joe pays his people £138.28 for 12 hrs

• Joe’s employees go to Walmart and go through the trash and feed the animals with out of date food, but can’t afford much themselves so get their own food from the trash too

• Barbra said she got really close with an animal and the tiger got killed and suspects Doc did it

• Doc is rumoured to euthanise his tigers or use a gun to kill the cats after they are no use to him anymore

• Carol’s husband just went missing and maybe died and peopl think the husband is buried in her house

• Even the missing husbands family think Carol killed him!
