(May Contain Spoilers)
After last week's episode I felt that it was all building up, and I AM MISTAKEN!!! I thought there were 20 episodes because that’s what it says on IMDB, however they have filmed 2 seasons already and it is 10 in each season. Therefore, when I’ve thought about the pacing it has been on and off and I did think how they were going to do 20 episodes and keep stringing the storyline along! Well Netflix dropped the last two episodes together and here is a little reminder of what happened.
What We Learnt:
Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) is about to be executed with breathing in ice, a horrible way to go!
Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs), the tail and third are trapped in between the train trying to figure out how to take over
First class are trying to figure out how to take out the tail and kill Melanie
Ruth (Alison Wright) find more belongings of Melanie’s and now wants to take over the train
Zarah (Sheila Vand) reveals to Layton that the baby she is carrying is actually from him, when they had a cheeky hump back at the beginning of the series
A message from first asks Layton to surrender and he claims that he will
Melanie is helped to escape the execution and finds Layton and tries to help them take over the train
The plan is to unhinge the train, make the front carts containing first class to be taken down another route and freeze to death and rejoin the engine and the tail back together
Layton is taken to first class to pretend to surrender and taken away to be executed but then turns it around and hurts the other soldiers
LJ (Annalise Basso) daughter the the Folgers tells them to go and witness Layton’s surrender, but even though she doesn’t know the plan it looks like she knows they wont come back
Bennett (Iddo Goldberg) and Miles (Jaylin Fletcher) are controlling the engine
Layton goes to pull the train back together but is met with a decision to kill tailees who have been trapped, which he does
The train rejoins together
I thought there was some great tension in this episode and as it continues to come to an end I felt the last episode and this one has done a great job, I just hope the next episode doesn’t plato and give us an unsatisfying ending. I thought the reveal that Zarah’s baby is actually Laytons was a good twist, as I even forgot she was pregnant. Looking forward to see how the series finishes up.
