The case is solved in this episode, which means what are they going to do for the next 17 episodes! I feel like I NEED to watch the film (2013) so I know where the series might go but also don’t want to ruin it. I enjoyed this episode as a few things happened and am looking forward to see how the series progresses.
What We Learnt:
Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) and Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) are called to Nikki’s (Madeleine Arthur) side as she was murdered
Layton who gave the description to Melanie of a tall young man in first class to be the killer she did nothing
The gates between the classes on the train were shut because of the fight the night before
Erik (Matt Murray), who is the bodyguard and killer, is stuck in third
Layton and Melanie get all the security onboard looking for a man in third (not knowing its Erik yet)
Layton and Melanie go to first class to talk with all the occupants
Layton notices that not all the bodyguards were there who were there are the fight
LJ Folger (Annalise Basso) states that Erik has not been home and that he went missing after the fight
Melanie informs the security they are looking for Erik
Melanie and Layton are taken to the Folger families cabin to look around
Layton is left alone with LJ and talks about Erik and her
Layton pieces things together and says that the killing of cutting a penis off is what women do to men for killing passion
Layton pretends to strike a deal with LJ by asking her to get a gun and in return he will be quite
Meanwhile Bess (Mickey Sumner) finds Erik in third and goes on a chase
Erik kidnaps Jinju (Susan Park), a scientist and lover of Bess
Erik gets hunted down by security and killed
Additionally, the tail plan to use the key pass that Layton gave them to send a message to tailees now on the train to communicate with Layton
Josie (Katie McGuinness) takes the day job up train and changes into PJ’s to find the other tailee worker to pass on the message to speak to Layton
The Folger family are told that Erik is dead and LJ fake cries
Layton signals to Melanie that LJ is actually the mastermind behind the murders
He makes an announcement to the room and LJ tries to kill him
LJ is locked up in the cell Layton was
Melanie treats Layton to a drink, and he says he just wants to go back to the tail, but she replies you have seen too much and he gets drugged
Melanie puts Layton in the drawers/ on board prison
Josie gets a message back from the tailee up train and says that Layton is missing

I really enjoyed this episode and like I said last week it is very interesting that there are 20 episodes, which makes me question what else are they going to do and is it going to feel dragged out. Layton being put in the drawers I should have seen coming, but Melanie started showing that she was from a lower-class background and thought she understood him more. The killers were a surprise, but I did enjoy Layton solving the case, however considering he did a trade with the head caretaker last series for the key, when he made the ‘deal’ with LJ I thought he was going to stick to it. I am glad that he didn’t as justice was served but am intrigued to see what they do with the series next.
