Snowpiercer Episode 3 - RECAP 💎💎💎

Updated: Jul 1, 2020

(May Contain Spoilers)

The story is starting to pick up, however I didn’t realise until today that there are going to be 20 episodes!!!! It makes me question how long his story will go on for and how bored the audience might get if the so-called killer has been revealed now but nothing happens for the next 17 episodes? I did think this episode was the best one so far as we started to see Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) in a tricky spot trying to play herself and Mr Wilford (her male persona). The drug digression in the storyline seemed a bit irrelevant at the moment but might make more sense later on. Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) sure is getting a lot done whilst he is on the train!

What We Learnt:

  • Melanie tries to distract the first-class residents by hosting a fight night

  • Layton and Bess (Mickey Sumner) visit Nikki (Madeleine Arthur) who was the witness to the first murder ad sentence to sleep, however, has been woken up

  • Melanie hears that Layton and Bess have gone to see Nikki and interrupts them just as they discover the Nikki has withdrawal symptoms from a drug circulating the train called Kronole

  • Layton shares some information from the tail with Melanie that one of her security guards, John Osweiller (Sam Otto), trades Kronole for blowjobs

  • Melanie and Layton question Osweiller, asking who his dealer is, but he doesn’t give it up

  • It is later revealed that it is the head caretaker, which Layton is led to by Zarah (Sheila Vand) his ex-wife now living up on the train

  • Whilst the fight night is still happening Nikki manages to escape the on-board prison/hospital and make her way to the fight night where Bess sees her and takes her back

  • LJ Folger (Annalise Basso) recognises Nikki who was the girl sentenced to sleep for the murder of the previous dead man, but claims that it wasn’t her and turns to the families bodyguard, Erik (Matt Murray)

  • Meanwhile Layton also gets to see Miles (Jaylin Fletcher), who is like his child that he brought up in the tail, who has now been taken on as an apprentice on board the train

  • Layton makes a trade with the caretaker his wedding ring for a ticket on the train and gives it to Josie (Katie McGuinness), his current girlfriend in the tail

  • The episode concludes with Erik paying Nikki a visit in the prison/hospital and kills her

Available to stream on Netflix now.
