(May Contain Spoilers)
This episode had me on the edge of my chair!! I loved how tense this episode was and the build up to the action at the end was thrilling! There was everything, double crossing, car chases, misdirection (but in a good way). Oh, and the ending was the biggest cliff hanger yet! Another major plot twist was that Erik (Joel Kinnaman) turned out not to be Hanna’s (Esme Creed-Miles) biological dad, which I did see coming! This episode was so juicy and I’m buzzing to continue!
What We Learnt: · Hanna made it to Berlin and meet up with Erik
· Sophie (Rhianne Barreto) and her family are questioned by the CIA and Sophie confesses that Hanna was going to Berlin
· Erik takes Hanna to a hideout and meet his old Army friends.
· Erik and his old army friends create a plan to lure to Berlin Marissa (Marissa Wiegler) and kill her
· Erik and gang go to a military facility and steal guns, which lures Marissa to their location
· Flashbacks reveal Erik worked for the army, but he came out poor so began working for Marissa
· Erik was employed to get a pregnant woman to give up her baby - enter Johanna (Joanna Kulig)
· Erik meets Johanna at an abortion clinic and convinces her to give up her baby
· Meanwhile Lukas (Peter Ferdinando) one of Erik’s army friends is taken for questioning by Marissa
· Marissa convinces Lucas to help them get Erik, by using his debt and drinking problem
· Hanna gets really annoyed that Erik has trained her and won’t take her on any trips
· Hanna says that Lucas is acting strange to Erik and he allows her to come on the trip to kill Marissa
· Lucas tells Erik that Marissa is in her room, but when they pull up Hanna notices armed guards in the hotel
· Erik meets Lucas in a cafe round the corner
· Marissa orders an arrest for Erik as Americans are allowed to shoot anyone on German soil
· Lucas (dressed as Erik) walks out the cafe and Marissa shots him, but realised it’s not Erik and runs after him
· Meanwhile Erik’s other army buddies continue the plan and change into police outfits
Marissa finds Erik about to get arrested and walks over to them but it’s Erik’s friends and they turn the tables!
I was gasping by the end of the episode and even though I kind of thought I knew what was coming was still shocked. It was so cleverly done, the pace of the episode as well as the build-up of action was great timing. It was good to see more being revealed behind the story with Erik’s involvement with Hanna’s birth and not being her biological father. I am waiting for the lies to come crawling in and Hanna to find out. The only thing that wasn’t so clear for me was Lucas, did Erik know he would double cross him and that was part of the plan, or did he work with finding out Lucas doubled crossed him. Either way Lucas doubled crossed him but ended on a high!
